At newcleo we are saddened by the death of Piero Angela, a historic figure of Italian scientific journalism and a television presenter with extraordinary communicative abilities. Mr Angela was often considered the Italian David Attenborough for his accessible yet scientifically accurate presenting of TV programs and documentaries since the early 1980s, particularly his flagship programme Superquark.
By complete coincidence, newcleo and our technology will be featured in a Superquark episode which will be aired tonight at 21.25 CEST on Italian RAI UNO; originally it was due to air next week, but the schedule has been modified due to today’s sad news.
We thank Piero Angela for his immense contribution to scientific and technological education shared with millions of Italians over the decades, and we will miss him.
